AIOScooter — Ride Terms
Version 2026-08-25 · the version you accept is recorded on each ride
Not yet legally reviewed. These terms are written in plain language so the ride flow is
honest about what it is asking you to agree to. They have not been settled by a South African
attorney and must be before any paying rider uses this service.
Who may ride
- You must be legally permitted to ride an electric scooter where you are riding it.
- One rider per scooter. Do not carry passengers.
- Do not ride under the influence of alcohol or anything that impairs you.
Riding safely
- Obey all road rules and traffic signals.
- Wear suitable footwear. A helmet is strongly recommended.
- Ride at a speed appropriate to the surface, the traffic and the weather.
- The scooter may slow automatically inside a restricted zone. This is normal.
- Stop and end the ride if the scooter reports a fault.
Ending the ride and parking
- End your ride in a marked bay. A ride ended outside a bay may continue to be charged.
- Do not block pavements, entrances, ramps or bus stops.
- The ride is only over when the app confirms it. Walking away does not end it.
What you pay
- An unlock fee plus a per-minute charge, both shown before you unlock.
- Charging continues until the ride is ended in the app.
- A receipt with the fare breakdown is issued at the end of every ride.
The scooter is not yours
- You are responsible for the scooter while the ride is open.
- Report damage or a crash through the app as soon as it is safe to do so.
- Do not modify, dismantle or attempt to open any part of the scooter or its lock.
What we record, and why
- The scooter's position and movement while a ride is open, so the ride can be priced,
the vehicle recovered, and safety events understood.
- The ride's start and end, its route, and the terms version you accepted.
- Your rider identifier. Creating one does not require your name, phone or email.
- We do not sell your ride data.
Suspension
Riding dangerously, parking obstructively, or damaging a scooter can result in your rider
account being suspended. If that happens, the app will tell you why.
