Enter your owner or operator key to mass-onboard blackbox devices into your fleet.
Register taxis one at a time or paste a whole rank from a spreadsheet. Each one gets a device token (shown once) and a rider QR.
Registering a taxi creates a device and gives you two things. They are not the same, and only one of them is a secret.
| Device token secret |
What the blackbox sends to prove it is that taxi. Shown once, then never again โ we only store a hash of it, so it genuinely cannot be looked up later. Lost it? You are not stuck: re-issue a new one from the Vehicles list (Rotate). The old token stops working the moment you do. |
| Rider QR not secret |
A printable code a passenger scans to see that trip. It is built from the device ID, so it can be regenerated any time at /api/taxi/qr?id=<device-id> โ you cannot lose it. |
| Email automatic |
Once a taxi is registered, AIOS emails you when an operating licence is expiring or has expired โ one
digest per fleet, sent when something changes rather than on a timer, so it tells you news instead of
nagging. It goes to the address on your team record; if nobody on the fleet has one, it reaches AIOS support
so a lapse is never simply lost.
What we will never email: the device token. It is a secret and it is not sent, not re-sent, and not recoverable โ the CSV below is the only copy. |
Always click Download tokens CSV before leaving this page โ that file is your only copy of the tokens, and asking us to email them is not an option we can offer. If a token is lost, Rotate the vehicle in the Vehicles list to issue a new one. Full walkthrough in the user manual.
| Column | Example | Where it shows up |
|---|---|---|
| Plate required | CA 123 456 | Identifies the taxi everywhere โ Owner dashboard, live map, rider trip card |
| Driver | Sipho Ndlovu | Shown under the plate on the Owner dashboard |
| Association | CATA | Becomes a filter chip on the Owner dashboard |
| Route | BELLVILLE - NYANGA | Becomes a filter chip too โ and it is how the insurer prices risk per route. Suggestions come from the real ingested taxi network (Cape Town, eThekwini, Tshwane, Polokwane), so start typing a place name and pick the gazetted route. |
| Operating licence | WC-OL-123456 | The PRE licence for this taxi. Shows on the Owner dashboard, and the fleet's Licensed % tile counts it. You can also upload a photo or PDF of the licence itself from the vehicle page โ it is stored and fingerprinted, so the document is bound to the plate. |
| OL expiry | 2027-03-15 | Date the licence runs out โ YYYY-MM-DD. This is what drives the expiry emails: without a date we cannot warn you, and the vehicle reads as undated rather than valid. |
Type Association and Route however you like โ they are matched loosely, so Route N2, route-n2 and ROUTE N2 all become the same chip instead of three. A first line starting with plate is treated as a CSV header and skipped, so a spreadsheet export pastes straight in.
